Celebrating Mother's Day at Tagaytay

Last May, we celebrated 2 occasions : Mother's Day and my Mom's Birthday. And what better place to celebrate it than Tagaytay?

It is accessible. No need for long bus rides or plane rides.
It is affordable. No need to spend so much for a weekend stay.

It houses various activities. Depending on the purpose of the trip,
you can go there for relaxation or for adventure.

So I booked an overnight accommodation at Hotel Kimberly through their website. We called their hotline for further clarification and for final confirmation. There was also a discount for Mom's who will celebrate Mother's Day there. That's what you call, perfect timing. :)

Commuting to Tagaytay is easy and it is only 1-1 1/2 hour away from Manila. We left Manila at about 6:30 am, following this guide. We should've arrived earlier had I googled the bus terminal first instead of assuming where it is. (I am so poor in directions.huhu)

First in the itinerary is Picnic Grove. Since it was lunch already, we ate first at a Restaurant directly in front of Picnic Grove. I forgot the name and I wasn't able to take pictures.

After that, the fun starts. :)

We rode the Zipline for 300 each. One -way ride. It was scary at first. But after awhile you'll get the hang of it. :) It's 100% safe for both adults and kids. There is also a free printed picture afterwards which you can keep as a souvenir. :)

Goofing around.

After that, we checked in the hotel. Another thing I missed out was the distance of the hotel from the sights we will visit. It turned out that the hotel was very far from Picnic Grove. :( And since we don't have a car, we spent a lot on the tricycle.

Tip: It is advisable to bring/rent a car when going to Tagaytay for more than a day.
It will make your stay hassle-free and you can explore the city more. :)

But upon reaching the hotel, I must say it was worth it :)

Reception Area | Pool Area | Garden.
We booked a Deluxe Room for Php 5125. Good for 4 persons. Comes with free buffet breakfast. Free Wifi. Cable TV. Hot and Cold Shower. Free use of swimming pool.

2-double-sized-bed | Animal-shaped towels :)

We took a rest for about 2 hours and headed out for another adventure --Taal Lake
The scenes were just spectacular! Going there was another long ride. From the Hotel to the bottom of the mountain. Then, a boat ride to the island . Then, a horse ride to the Crater. It took about 2 hours for all of that. And my butt really did ache.

Boat ride going to the island

Small craters along the way

It was about to rain, but it waited for us to leave before it poured.

The horse ride
 Ta-daa! The crater..

Sunset (going back to the hotel)
Another batch of tourists on our way back

We were so tired afterwards, but very much at awe by the beauty of our country.
We didn't have time and energy to go and find another restaurant so we just ate at a fast food chain :)

After dinner, we just watched a movie. I was the "last man standing" again. :) And after a while, it was time to say good night.

Lights out (brother being artsy and all)
The next day we ate breakfast by the pool. We also swam afterwards, para lang masulit ung bayad. Lol.

Then, it was time to go home. :(

At their "photobooth"
So there you have it, hope you find this useful for your first/ next visit to Tagaytay! :) Let me know about it.
Where do you suggest we go next time? :)
