Cheerdance Competition 2013

All the Saturday's for the past 2-3 months were allotted for this day. 

The Cheerdance competition.

One of the things I am excited about in competitions or performances, is the costume.

It is the very first thing that the the audience will see, and judge. 

Hence, by being different and unique, your team will easily be remembered.

DIY-ed top. 

We manually sewed the gold studs, and had the logo and name printed on our plain gray shirt. :)

Execution

Two people may dance the same steps, dance to the same music,

but somehow the execution is different.

As an individual, honing your artistry is a positive thing. 

It will set you aside from a sea of dancers.

It is movement combined with character.

It is putting yourself into it.

This becomes a problem when dancing in groups,

wherein you have to blend in.

This does not mean to lower down your abilities,

but rather pull each other up, in order to meet the goal.

Faith

You are physically exhausted.

Sleep deprived. 

But remember, all the tiring things, and sacrifices are now in the past.

Now is the time to show the people what you've worked so hard for.

Set aside your personal agendas, and focus on the team's goal

Above all, have faith in Him.

After all, it is already 'written in the stars'. 

On Winning

As long as you've learned something new,

as long as it contributed to your development, may it be as a dancer, or as a person,

you are a winner.

We may have finished 1st runner up,but being able to dance with these guys,

and learning from each and every one of them, already feels like I've won. :)

After every performance, I always assess if I became better.
