Last year, we left Manila March 8,Thursday, at about 8:00 PM.
After an hour we arrived at Laoag International Airport.
We spent our night at Texicano Hotel. It is an Economy Class Hotel.
Nothing Fancy. Just a decent bed and comfort room, for travelers on budget.
Here are contact numbers, of different hotels you can stay in at Laoag. |
For dinner, we ate at Papa Pau's Diner.
The meals here are so affordable, and the servings are huge.
Day 1
We went to La Paz Sand Dunes, Laoag,
but we weren't aware that the sand boarding activity doesn't start until afternoon, about 6pm.
Since we were there already, we had no other choice but to explore the area
under the scorching heat of the sun.
We passed by a lot of churches and museums going back to the hotel.
One of which is the Sinking Bell Tower at Laoag.
After lunch, we left Laoag and set off for a 3-hour bus ride to Pagudpod.
We stayed at Hanna Lou's Homestay.
Again it is not that much, but it is decent enough to accommodate travelers on budget.
Plus they serve meals too.:)
Day 2
A 5- 10 minute walk will lead you to the beach. This part of Pagudpod is Blue Lagoon.
The waves here are more calm.
The next day, we are bound to travel to the other side of the beach.
For this,we availed of a tour package ahead of time.
The package tour will pass through the
Patapat Viaduct
Kabigan Falls
Bantay Abot Cave
Then the highlight of the trip, the Pagudpud beach.
The waves are awesome! :)
Not too high for surfing, but high enough to throw you ashore,
And leave girls finding for their bikini tops.
We stayed here for lunch. Food was also so affordable. :)
We only rented a cottage, and it was also included in the package.
The tour continues, and we are now bound to go to the Bangui Windmills.
We bid good bye to Pagudpud.
And said hello to the Bangui windmills!
This accounts for almost 3/4 of Ilocos Nortes' electricity.
Last stop would be the Burgos Lighthouse.
The sunsets, and the tour has now come to an end.
From there, we rode a bus to Vigan, and spent the night at Vigan Hotel.
Day 3
The next day, we went to Ilocos' famous zoo, the Baluarte.
Here are some animals you can see there:
We tried pottery making afterwards,
And spent the rest of the night exploring Calle Crisologo.
It is best to buy pasalubong here. :)
We spent the evening again at Vigan Hotel.
Day 4
The next day, we rode a kalesa and visted some more tourist spots.
The Bell Tower
Marcos' Museum
Paoay Church
Unfortunately, it was under renovation that time |
And that marks the end of our trip!
Hope this helps.
Check out more blogs on the internet, and plan your trip ahead of time.
